Qualification Requirements for Peer Reviewers
1. Academic and Professional Qualifications
Ph.D., Master’s degree, or equivalent in a relevant field such as Dance, Theatre, Music, Film Studies, or Performance Studies.
Professors, researchers, and industry professionals with experience in performing arts practice and research.
Publications in indexed journals, conference presentations, book authorship, or contributions to edited volumes.
2. Research and Scholarly Expertise
Background in academic research, artistic practice, and theoretical frameworks in performing arts.
Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies.
Familiarity with emerging trends and interdisciplinary approaches in performing arts.
3. Experience in Reviewing and Editorial Work
Prior experience as a peer reviewer or editorial board member.
Ability to analyze submissions for originality, clarity, and relevance.
Knowledge of academic integrity standards, plagiarism detection, and research ethics.
4. Industry and Practical Expertise (For Practice-Based Submissions)
Professional experience as a performer, director, choreographer, composer, or producer.
Expertise in creative processes, production techniques, and performance criticism.
5. Ethical Standards and Objectivity
Commitment to impartiality, confidentiality, and constructive feedback.
Adherence to ethical reviewing practices.
Providing balanced critique to maintain high publication standards.
6. Technical and Digital Literacy
Familiarity with online manuscript submission and review platforms.
Ability to evaluate multimedia content, including performance recordings.
7. Multidisciplinary and Cross-Cultural Perspectives
Willingness to review interdisciplinary works.
Awareness of cultural diversity and global perspectives in performance studies.
8. Language and Communication Skills
Proficiency in English (or the journal's primary language).
Ability to evaluate submissions in multiple languages (if applicable).
